Do you think this would affect exit opps?
I don't think they do much on deal execution as it gets outsourced to industry groups. I can be wrong, but think its more a relationship building role that's more qualitative than traditional coverage IB?
Yes! In the job description, they say that its focus is on relationship building. So basically you won't get real deal experiences?

I've seen in a couple places that Lazard's Midwest Advisory Group is what they call their M&A practice. Can anyone confirm this?
I had a phone screen with an analyst a couple weeks ago. He confirmed that the MWA Group is just what they call M&A.
They just pitch - all execution on deals that turn live get outsourced to other offices.
What level did you recruit for? Also, did you hear back about the SD? I was told SD would be this Friday and I have not heard back.

How's Lazard MM different from traditional Lazard advisory?
It's almost an entirely different organization. They recruit separately, bonus pools are separate, and most importantly, headhunters view them very separately
