No. Not even close to the others you mentioned. Would compare them to other lower-tier middle-market firms like Lincoln, RayJay, Stifel, Stephens, etc.
I would say it's materially worse than those banks - LMM firms like RJ / Lincoln/ Stifel tend to have at least 1-2 standout groups (RJ Tech & Services, Lincoln TMT, etc) that punch well above the rest of the firm's weight. Lazard MM doesn't have that kind of group.
I've seen some decent exits out of the Chicago office to Chicago pe shops. Pretty sure alot of those guys just put lazard on there resume tho and conveniently leave out the mm
No idea on culture/deal flow. Would definitely take DB/UBS over lazard mm
