Leaving Firm

I have been on my team for 2 years now and recently there has been headcount turnover on the team but also within our broader group, primarily due to lack of deal flow and I’m sure compensation is much higher at other firms. Since the departure of one associate my workload assumed his entire portfolio (5 more borrowers) but we were just made aware of another leaving. I am not sure what the portfolio split will be moving forward but since there’s only one other PM (likely 50/50 — who h would mean 15+ borrowers each, plus any new deal flow). One way to look at it is great reps and exposure, but that’s if we get new deals and I don’t burn out. I had a recent discussion with manager on promotion timeline and the possibility of mid- y me due to the circumstances and I was given an answer on how promotions work / timing of mid cycle, but nothing concrete which leaves me wondering through September and if not then, through the new year. We have open job recs to hire an analyst and associate but I’m wondering why they don’t give me a quick bump in pay to retain… it seems as if I’m the glue holding this team together. I feel bad if I leave, knowing the team is ina worse places but it’s about career growth and personal decisions at a certain point and that’s just doing what’s best for me.

So any advice on how to keep pestering my manager on comp/promotion to reflect how my work has evolved, taking a new opportunity, and anything else would be greatly appreciated. For context, I’m a 3rd year analyst in lev fin.
