London Housing Options for AN
Incoming AN1 at an EB in Mayfair. Not from the UK so would be great to get some recommendations on where to look for housing.

There's like a billion threads on this.
So for Mayfair Green Park could be a good station, depending exactly where you are (and assuming you're expecting to commute by tube). If so, my advice would be to look at stations along those three lines. Rather unlikely that you can live anywhere very close as you'll be working in an expensive area, but you might come across a gem.
I personally like the Canary Wharf area - it's safe, has plentiful accommodation options around South Quay, and plenty of amenities (albeit lacking in character). I know folks who have lived in Canada Water too, which is more residential but has a lot of options. Further out is Stratford which has built up recently and is cheaper, but the area is a little more sketchy.
I have minimal knowledge of Brixton, but it's on one of the lines (the least comfortable line) serving Green Park and has gentrified somewhat recently, so it might also be worth a look.
Those are some thoughts off the cuff.
bro will be working in mayfair and you suggest he rents at canary? my office is in canary and did not consider for a minute renting there lol.
Really? Perhaps I'm out of touch but I thought rents for flat shares or studios around the South Quay area near CW aren't too bad? Of course not on CW itself (where the rents are indeed insane).
Brixton I'll be the first to admit I'm not the expert, but at 2 stops from Green Park it's convenient enough
brixton???? Jesus Christ, ignore any area mr waccula mentioned
If you have the budget would go for Marylebone. You should be able to walk to the office and you will be close to Regent's park. Quality of life will be much better than commuting from CW
Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Paddington, Bayswater, Notting Hill
Yeah this guy is right. Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Paddington, Bayswater and St John's Wood would be my recommendations. 15mins max on the tube, well connected and really nice neighbourhoods - if you look well, you can find some good places there
East London has a lot of new and cheap flats, with well-connected transportation. One drawback is that some of the areas can get quite rowdy. Assuming you will use the tube to commute to Mayfair, I'd recommend staying near the Elizabeth line to get off at Bond Street - will cut your commute time significantly.
My recommendations: Farringdon, Barbican, Shoreditch, Whitechapel.
Alternatively West London is very chill and picturesque. There's a lot of green space, the architecture is beautiful, and you get more affluent neighbourhood. However, most flats here are quite old and can be super expensive. You will be closer to Mayfair, but there won't be as many direct tubes.
Notable areas: Paddington, Notting Hill, Kensington, Marylebone.
North London is more young and bustling. Flats here are less old and expensive than West London but more than East London. Transportation to central isn't the best either.
Notable areas: Angel, Camden, Hackney, St John's Wood.
I don't know much about South London beside the Battersea area which is quite nice, but commuting from there can be a pain.
As a side note, you should definitely not be noise sensitive when thinking about moving to East London.
