I have been contemplating a MSF for a long time to re-brand myself and have a better shot at IBD recruiting. I have looked at Villanova, Vanderbilt and BC in the U.S (not quant enough for MIT and Princeton), and a couple of programs in Europe. Among the European programs, I really like Bocconi for a number of reasons: location (love Italy); reputation in London; more affordable than LSE/Oxbridge; seems generous with scholarship offerings; two-year program so I can find an SA stint during the summer, which is relatively easier than going into full-time recruiting.
However, I am a non-EU Visa holder. I know that Bocconi placement is great in London IBD, but a linkedin search shows that Bocconi alums who work in IBD are mostly Italian, or from continental Europe. Could anyone shed some light on how hard is it for a non-EU Visa holder to get an IBD gig in London with Bocconi MSF in their resume? Any insights would be much much appreciated.

No exact idea how it is for non-EU visa holders but we hired only Italians from Bocconi for our London office this year.
Furthermore, the reputation of Bocconi isn't actually that stellar, there just isn't anything better in Italy. Whenever someone from my team has a CV from a Bocconi graduate on their table and he/ she does not have a GPA of 4.0 it pretty much goes onto the trash pile unless there's some other really good stuff on there. So if u go to Bocconi you gotta ace all ur courses to have a shot (at least with respect to my firm).

Absolutely agree with the above. I'm at a BB - we also hire from Bocconi, but only to fill out our Italian-speaking quota every year. And yeah, you'd need to either have a 4.0 GPA, or be a hot italian chick.
If it's an option, I think you'd probably be better off with somewhere like LSE / LBS / Imperial.
So if I'm not Italian (continental Europe though) is it even worth to consider MSF at Bocconi? Or just let it go and try at LSE, Oxbridge, SSE, HSG? How well positioned is SSE in London?
I would say SSE is similar to Bocconi in the sense that BBs recruit there to fill out language requirements. Sweden is awesome though...
I'd say that the top UK schools give you the best chance if you're dead set on London IBD.
