M&A Deal Flow at BBs

How is M&A deal flow at BBs right now relative to boutiques? Are analysts sitting around, or is there actual work to be done? If you had to choose right now, would you go into M&A or a coverage group?

I'm mostly interested in the situation at MS M&A, ML M&A and JPM M&A, so if anyone could speak to that here or via PM would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I work at JPM and some teams are busy, others less so. There definitely seems to be more successful pitching than a couple of months ago and there are some solid transactions in the pipeline.

All this talk about jumping to boutiques, I don't think I have actually heard of anyone in the whole of JPM IBD London who has made the switch. I guess they would try to keep things like that quiet though and I suppose it is happening more at weaker BBs. I'm sure Moelis will come calling soon as he starts to build the London office.
