Ah, the thrilling yet nerve-wracking wait after a psychometric assessment! While I don't have specific details on Macquarie's timeline following their psychometric assessments, I can share some insights based on the general timelines and experiences from similar high-stakes environments, like Goldman Sachs and McKinsey, as discussed on Wall Street Oasis.
For Goldman Sachs, after their HireVue interviews, which can be somewhat akin to psychometric assessments in terms of being an early screening stage, candidates have reported hearing back anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. However, it's important to note that these timelines can vary greatly depending on the role, the number of applicants, and the specific recruitment cycle.
In the case of McKinsey, for their consulting roles, the timeline to hear back after initial rounds (which could include tests similar in nature to psychometric assessments) can also span several days to a week, especially if your application is being forwarded to preferred offices for further consideration.
Given these insights, it's reasonable to infer that for a structured and competitive process like Macquarie's SA2025, you might be looking at a similar range of response times. It's always a bit of a waiting game, and the timeline can be influenced by many factors.
As for how you think it went, it's natural to analyze and sometimes overthink your performance. Remember, these assessments are designed to gauge a range of skills and aptitudes, and it's not just about getting every answer right but also about how you approach problems and challenges. If you felt you did your best and showcased your strengths, that's a positive outcome regardless.
In the meantime, my best advice is to stay engaged, perhaps prepare for the next stages, and also consider other opportunities in parallel. The waiting period is an excellent time to reflect, learn, and even reach out to your network for advice and insights. Keep the momentum going, and best of luck!

What do these usually test for?
does everyone get one?
Former MQ here - that test is a tick and flick, everyone does it, from Analyst to Sr. MD. If you “fail”, they make you redo it during your first week on the job. Test is inconsequential in whether you hear back on next steps or not…or at least that was my experience several years ago.
Good luck
When you took it did you feel like you did well? I took mine for a lateral process about a week ago and feel like I did awful, wondering if I won’t progress for that reason
I felt like I did terrible as well but somehow ended up actually doing pretty well
Just interned at Macquarie. I believe atleast to intern there, you need to meet a certain bar on the pyschometric test. My team said the bar wasn’t all that high and they rarely reject anybody because of it, but that it’s happened once or twice.
I work at MQ. I'm not 100% but I don't think there is a min bar that is an auto disqualifier- but if there is you would really need to bomb the whole thing. At superdays we use the results as a data point in our candidate discussions. For example if someone was not strong on technicals and had a low numerical reasoning score we are more comfortable concluding the candidate is technically weak.
I bombed it. That shit was so hard lmao.
what type of questions r on them LOL so curious
