M&A's and Corporate Governance (Issues) - Examples needed

Hello everyone,

I am looking for M&A deals in which corporate governance (and its impact on post-merger performance) was an important theme. It could also be a deal in which the post-merger entity did not perform as expected, due to some corporate governance issues of any kind. The only requirement is that enough information about these companies, both pre-merger and post-merger, is available (i.e. annual reports of both entities prior to the merger, press coverage, etc.).

I've been looking online and read through a bunch of research papers, but none of them seem to give actual examples. I'm hoping that some of you could provide me with interesting examples.
