MBB/Big 4 consulting sophomore -> Bb/EB junior?

Hi everyone,

I was fortunate to get a sophomore advisory/consulting internship at an MBB/Big 4 firm. I go to a top target and my goal is BB/EB banking my junior year and onward.

How would banks see an internship in consulting vs PE or Asset Management as a sophomore? Do banks look down on consulting, especially at a big 4? Will it raise questions of why I’m trying to do IB? I’m trying to weigh the costs and benefits of reneging the offer to go for an asset management firm sophomore summer.

For background I did an Investment Analayst at a small asset management firm freshmen year and Data Science at a startup.
