McCombs MBA - Investment Banking

Very specific question here - I'm trying to make a career switch into investment banking but I'm not necessarily interested in Oil/Gas/Energy sectors. Does McCombs offer many non-Houston non-Energy IB opportunities for MBA students? As someone with a non-traditional background (real estate), how difficult would this path be? I love Austin for a variety of personal reasons but I'm kind of hung up on this question. I'm in the process of reaching out to current students but I thought that it couldn't hurt to get WSO's perspective!

I have a friend who is a current student at McCombs right now that successfully recruited for O&G IB. He said that, in his class, there was a handful of students (no more than 3-4) that recruited for NYC IB and came away with offers. It's definitely possible, but if your goal is NYC IB, there are comparable T20 programs that will provide significantly more recruiting opportunities and facetime with groups in NYC.
