Misleading to write "Corporate & Investment Banking Summer Analyst" on resume if position is in CB?
I'm trying to gain every advantage I can to break into IB, but would this title be too misleading if I'm in CB? For context, my bank combines CB and IB in the same department.
If you have to write "Corporate & Investment Banking Summer Analyst" everyone knows that just means corporate banking lol
Just write Corporate Banking Analyst.
If you cannot speak to something don't put it on your resume.
Just write CB. It's not at all hard to lateral from CB, especially at the bank you're talking about that combines them, and if anyone does happen to read it and think you work in IB you'll be dinged once they ask you IB experience questions and you can't answer
Maybe write “Corporate Banking Analyst (CIB)” ?
As a former corporate banker, just put corporate banking analyst. I had coworkers that did that and I always thought it made them look like goobers. Also, in an interview it will be the first thing they ask anyways. You’ll get plenty of interviews with corporate banking on your resume, at least I did when I lateraled. Also, as someone said above whenever I see someone that puts “Corporate & Investment Banking Analyst” on LinkedIn instantly know they are in CB because there’s no reason to put that if you’re an IB analyst
