missed the boat?
i think i missed the boat and am not sure which options are available to me now.
since i have graduated i am not eligible for internships. off-cycle positions want a specific european language or sector banking experience but i do not fit the profile. there are many full time roles open but they all want bulge bracket trained analysts or elite boutique analysts or big4 analysts but i do not have this experience.
masters is 1 year in the united kingdom but will it help me because i am still not a penultimate year? also money is tough but maybe i can take a loan.
is my only option left to wait until mba level and to do any job that will help me save up for it? should i self-study the ACA or CIMA?

If you manage to score a target school in UK for your masters, elite/boutique firms and BBs will certainly become more accessible. No school will ensure you a placement in a BB or anywhere for that matter, but if you put your networking skills to the right use, you will increase your chances.
I graduated last year and will be starting my masters this fall, so I understand where you're coming from. I wouldn't hold on to a sloppy job for years and then try for an MBA, which is way harder to score than a masters. Gear up and get yourself a place in one of the target schools.
As for the certificate courses, it really depends on the kind of job/career you're after. I'm not very well informed about ACA and CIMA, but they seem to have an accounting base which may not be needed for jobs at IB or AM. People do take up CFA for the buy-side jobs though.
