Mizuho IB Thoughts?

What are your thoughts on Mizuho IB internship and full time? Curious to hear on M&A deal flow, exit opps, compensation, culture, etc. Recently had a superday there and still waiting to hear back from them.

If you've had a superday with the folks at Mizuho, you'd understand that the bank isn't M&A focused. Their main advantages are having a large balance sheet and doing cross-border loan syndication and other various debt-type financing deals. Exit opps would be to lateral to a different bank that's more M&A focused, if that's what you want to do. Culture is still very Japanese with Japanese employees moving to the states to work in the NY office. Though there are employees with MDs from other large commercial banks, like Wells Fargo/BNP/RBC and analysts being mainly from top to semi-target schools. Compensation would be on par for base but bonus may be slightly lower than street. (Source: From what I've read up online and what analysts friends told me)
