Mizuho Prestige/Exit opps?

Currently a rising senior in college, got a full time Investment Banking offer from Mizuho Bank in their DCM group in NY and wanted to know 1) how prestigious the firm is compared to the BB/EB firms and 2) the possibility of exiting to MF or Upper MM PE firms. My goal is to end up at Blackstone/Carlyle/Apollo or equivalent after 2 years of banking. I go to a non-target and am new to the finance world, appreciate the insight!

First of all congratulations. That's a great offer, esp. from a non-target. Mizuho is building and growing in the US (it is apparently gigantic in Japan / Asia Pac), but realistically it will be very difficult to get a megafund PE offer out of the bank's DCM group. Although you might have success getting into one of those funds' capital markets groups, which is different, but a very interesting and lucrative career path.
