MTS Health Partners Interview

Hi, super late in the process but I've been completing the interview process with MTS Health Partners. I have my final round of interviews tomorrow, but I know most applicants finished up a few months ago. Looking for any tips -- I come from a non-finance background, and HR has warned me that these interviews will be more technical. Please let me know any tips!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some tips for your final round of interviews with MTS Health Partners, especially given your non-finance background and the technical focus:

  1. Master Basic Technicals:

    • DCF (Discounted Cash Flow): Understand it inside and out, including discount rates and free cash flows.
    • Three Financial Statements: Be prepared to answer questions on how different occurrences affect the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
    • Valuation Methods: Know the three main ways to value a company: DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  2. Prepare for Common Technical Questions:

    • Enterprise Value Calculation: Be sure you can calculate enterprise value accurately.
    • LBO (Leveraged Buyout) Basics: Understand the fundamentals of an LBO, even if detailed questions are less likely.
    • PiK Interest: Be familiar with Payment-in-Kind (PiK) interest and how it works.
  3. Use Available Resources:

    • WSO Guide: The guide on Wall Street Oasis is highly recommended for technical preparation.
    • 400 M&I Question Guide: This can be found online and is a comprehensive resource for technical questions.
    • Rosenbaum & Pearl: This M&A and LevFin heavy guide is also useful, though it may not be freely available.
  4. Behavioral and Fit Questions:

    • Resume Walkthrough: Be ready to walk through your resume and discuss your experiences confidently.
    • Situational Questions: Prepare for questions like "tell me about a time when..." and "walk me through a deal."
  5. Interview Strategy:

    • Read Your Interviewer: Tailor your responses based on the interviewer's behavior and background.
    • Ask Insightful Questions: Have thoughtful questions prepared for your interviewer to show your interest and engagement.
  6. General Tips:

    • Stay Humble: Be humble when describing your contributions to any deals or projects.
    • Be Personable: Especially in MD interviews, come off as personable and avoid being overly formal or stiff.

Good luck with your final round of interviews tomorrow!
