Need a closed m&a for PE/GE???

Hi guys - since recruiting in the past mostly was for kids with 1/2 a month of experience (LOL) and who clearly could not have a closed deal by then, will class of 2020 on cycle require a closed m&a deal? Or how does that work...

It’s not a deal breaker to not have one, but the people that do will be able have better conversations about their deal experience. A lot of interview questions talk about, especially for growth equity, revenue build and model drivers.

If you don’t have deal experience, the conversation pivots to hypotheticals, which are a lot harder to talk about from an investment perspective because you haven’t already formed an opinion on it with memorized numbers.

I got my offer with an ongoing M&A sell side - doesn’t have to be closed. Just need talking points to show you know how to think like an investor.
