Need advice for transferring

Hi all,

Long-time lurker, first time poster here. I am trying to figure out what decision makes the most sense. I am currently a second semester junior at a non-target school in NYC (think Pace, Fordham, Baruch) with a 3.9+ GPA, decent ECs and other experiences. I am deeply committed to getting into IBD -> PE. A little bit more background is that I started college around 5-6 years ago and did very poorly at my first college. I did so bad that I ended up getting dismissed and screwed around for a few years. I recently transferred to my new school in NYC and now am a straight A student. I also networked my ass off and have received a summer analyst position at a top EB (think Moelis, Lazard, Evercore) with the hope that I get a return offer.

My question is that it has come to my attention that I could transfer to a much better university (ivy-league or other top tier colleges) with a reasonable chance at getting in. Would it make sense for me to transfer if it meant delaying graduation one more year? Will a better brand name help me get into good MBA programs and make me a more competitive applicant for PE/IBD?

Pros are that I would have a much better college brand name, potentially another summer analyst position. Cons are that I would delay graduation one more year and could possibly end up rejected a return offer if things go well at the summer analyst position.

Thoughts?

Thank you in advance.
