Need guidance on how to approach recruiting + GPA

I’m a student at a non-target majoring in a math and cs and have a cumulative gpa of 3.54 and a major gpa of 3.95.

Maybe I’m being delusional, but I really want to get into an EB or a BB, and I’m just worried that my resume won’t even be looked at, especially at EBs with high GPA cutoffs (I know these cutoffs are somewhat arbitrary in a sense, but I’m coming from a non-target mind you)

I understand some GPA cutoffs can be overlooked with strong networking, and I’m in the process of doing that right now and really getting my technicals and my story down.

But I am worried that the moment HR, analysts see my resume and see my gpa, they’ll think I’m lazy or stupid and just not even consider me for an interview or talk to me. After all, they get applicants from better schools with equally hard majors with 3.8~4.0 gpas.

Even seriously considering taking a gap year to try recruiting for next year (SA 2024 class) and taking summer classes to boost my GPA up to a 3.7 to give myself a chance for next recruiting cycle.

Am I being stupid about taking a gap year and are EBs still somewhat possible, or should I just focus on academics this semester, forget recruiting rn and try for next year.

Really appreciate it.
