need help with SA position

I am trying to prepare early for next year's SA recruitment (im 2nd year right now) and the problem is that by 3rd year this time i will only have had 2 half year finance courses. I was just wondering would it be a good idea to take them during the summer and then 3rd year take some 4th year finance courses to further prepare myself for the technical questions that will be given to me during interviews.

Much appreciated

I would get an internship over the summer rather than take classes. Any internship (doesn't have to be banking or even finance) with transferable skills will make you a much more attractive candidate. You can easily cover all the technical aspects of the interviews via the various guides on ibanking available.

Amen to that. Def get the best internship you can this summer and learn the finance stuff on your own. By the time I took my first year of finance courses I had learned it all already from outside reading.

If you take more finance courses than your peers and you let the banks know about this, you will raise the expectations of the interviewers about your understanding of finance.  This will result in you possibly getting more complex questions.

As mentioned above, a meaningful summer internship is much more valuable.  The only reason to take courses over the summer is if you have a low GPA and you want to raise your GPA by taking a summer course where it is easier to get a good grade.
