Networking Advice - Europe

I have recently met (at a networking event not specific to a bank/school) a VP from a top tier bank, we got along really well, and said if I needed any help he would be happy to help. However his is not from the division I am aiming at (think PWM/AM/Sales and aiming at IB). Not sure how/if I should stay in his radar for recruiting season (I am based in Europe, hence recruiting will start in mid-August). I was thinking that he might be able to help me with my cover letter/CV but not much more. Any thoughts on this one?

Anyway he is a nice guy and we will keep in touch for sure!
