How far in advance of the internship start date should you start internally networking with your group? What are the general expectations around this practice— would you say an intern is at a disadvantage if they don't network enough before hitting the desk? This is for summer 2024, appreciate all advice.

No such thing. Alot of my batchmates didn't network until their very first day.
