Networking SA26
During some networking calls I had (e.g., with second-year analysts, associates, and VPs), the conversations seemed to go well. However, when I brought up the topic of recruiting, many mentioned they weren’t heavily involved in the process. Is it true that basically everyone at the bank has somewhat access to referral. Some provided contacts to others on their team. Does this suggest that the connection wont be helpful during my recruitment process. Also, what’s the best way to frame an asking for referral question—either at the end of a call or follow up later. will appreciate any advice.
If ur at a target, ur school probably has a specific team in charge of ur recruiting. theyre probably referring u to ppl on that team, the people who can actually help you. how it works afaik
How does it work if I’m at a nontarget?
Honestly you just network and pray someone likes you enough to refer. There's no institutionalized process hence why it's so hard to break in
What do you mean by referral ? Like push your resume forward?
Yes
