Networking Too Much

Is there such a thing as networking too much? Networking for Summer 2024 and I have been passed along to a couple people after initial calls with two analyst/associates.

Reached out to a VP who was out of office but was kind enough to pass me to an analyst. However, that analyst was the analyst I already talked to.

A bit awkward.

I dont know the extent I need to network but I am also curious and wanting to meet new people. Not being obsessive with my contacts and stuff but something feels off

Ended up landing a superday and an offer (skipped all rounds of interviews), done with recruiting but biggest takeaway was being organic. No such thing as too much networking if each analyst/associate is passing you on to another. Always nice to ask for a connection

I don’t think there is such a thing as « too much » networking, but it is your responsibility to keep an updated excel of prospects and try to remember the most important ones
