New Laptop for Networking/PE Recruiting/Personal Uses/etc.

To my knowledge, companies will provide a work computer that will cover all of my work responsibilities. But, is it worth it to buy another laptop that is for more personal uses. I have a MacBook that I got freshman year of college but it’s falling apart. I assume networking or prepping for PE is probably a no-go on the work computer.

Also I’ve read recent threads about which laptops are “good”. But if I’m only using this computer for personal things and not really for much professional things, is it worth forking up 1k for a laptop? Would appreciate any insight. Thanks
