No interview time slots available

Hi...so I'm selected for a first round on-campus interview by a bank, but due to some particular reason in my university I was assigned a sign-up time later than some of my peers. When I open the interview sign-up sheet, all spots are taken. The sign-up ends today by 11:59pm.

I sent an email to my career center and to the HR who is listed as contact. Is there anything else I can do? Will the company likely to accommodate me a virtual/phone interview? I feel really frustrated that I can get an interview but may not be able to actually do the interview.

Thank you.

They will probably just have the on campus recruiter stay a little later and squeeze in your interview. You took the right steps, just follow up with both contacts if you don't hear back in a day

People from my career services told me "the best action is to watch out for any cancellations"...this is really annoying and frustrating since I don't feel like they are trying to help at all

I would push back on that a little... go talk to them in person if necessary. They shouldn't control who does/does not get interviews, especially if your sign up was later.

Ring people up. If its important emails are useless.

If they continue to say look for cancellations then break some legs! This is your career we are talking about.

That's how it works sometimes. Preferred candidates get the slots - if they cancel, you have an opportunity. Otherwise, no interview for you. This happened to me twice.

I am the real boss baby.

okay figure out if this was a mistake or intentional. At my school, this happens, and it is normal. Basically, if there are 10 spots open, they will select 10 kids to sign up and also select 5 kids as back up. the 10 kids are allowed to sign up, say, Monday and back up kids sign up on Tuesday. IF for some reason, only 8 out of the 10 kids sign up, then 2 out of the 5 backup kids can sign up for spots on Tuesday, first come first serve.
