No second round!!! HELP!!!
hey,
I had 5 first round interviews with BBs, but I didnt get any second round. I wasnt expecting this.
So what are my options now? I go to a "target" but only around 10 banks came to my school.
I never applied to any mms. Is anyone still recruiting? Im a junior does this mean I'm gonna be unemployed when I graduate?
Thanks
Are you not a goodlooking female? Or from a wealthy powerfull family or a real frat boy? You can always go to do audit at big 4, then MBA. Forget IBD for the next 3 years.
network. reach out to all your contacts and people you met through the recruiting process. off cycle hiring happens, but you need to be in the right place at the right time as it is a very one-off situation
Google / forum search is your friend:

Obviously many others. Best of luck.
Step 1: Freak out ---- Check Step 2: Network, target MM's, many banks are still recruiting especially if your college is a target
If you are a junior can't you just try to find something semi relevant for the summer like pwm or an internship in industry and then apply again FT. I know its not ideal, but just an idea....Good Luck with your search going forward.

Don't panic. Congratulations on receiving five interviews in the first place. ,Clearly your paper and online applications are strong. There is no reason to assume you will be unemployed when you graduate.
Your first priority is to establish what is going wrong in the interviews themselves and source feedback if at all possible. First round interves are typically competency focused, and interviewers are generally looking for strong evidence of your soft skills, particularly TLC (teamwork, leadership, communication). Make sure you have some impressive (and detailed) examples at hand for when you have demonstrated each of these skills (for example, positions of responsibility held, team memberships, or employment experience)
Also, given the time of year (a lot of deadlines already having closed), you may have to focus on building up relevant experience in areas related to your ultimate goal (for example, if your are applying for trading positions, perhaps consider brokerage or asset management roles). This will provide interesting, relevant, and make a future transition much more plausible.
You have some good application and interview experience behind you; stay motivated and use this as a platform to progress with your career.
