Nomura Superday IBD Hong Kong

I was invited to Nomura superday for HK IBD. but I received another email recently, about two weeks after the first email that they reassessed and decided not to invite me to Superday. Is this normal? what would have caused them to invite to superday and cancel later?

If this is common in Hong Kong, then wow. This is some unprofessional shit to pull.

karyptoCall them and say you want to speak to Mr. Nomuraaa (say it all Japanese like ... make sure you sound angry)

Then be blunt about it and say you want to reschedule and come in

I kind of agree.. you have very little to lose. If you call up to "clarify," and then reiterate your interest on the call and (while remaining polite) don't take "no" for an answer, you may get a shot.

Obviously, don't be racist.

WhiteKnightDDPost a copy of the email. Curious their exact wording.
it was something like this... We have had to reassess who will be invited to our final round interviews and regret that we will not be taking your application any further at this time. Thank you for the time taken to apply to our Program.

We would like to thank you again for your interest and wish you every success in your future endeavours.

Hmm interesting. Too many qualified kids for superday? Sounds like a joke. It's highly possible that a kid takes your spot through his connection with, let's say, the head of Asia or sth, without him even taking the phone interview. For you, you either get in, or go back home. So there's no harm to give them a call/send an email to the senior management/team to "complain" and speak out "how much you want the opportunity". Good luck
