Nomura vs Macquarie IB

I’m a student at target school (HYP). I have a summer offer for nomura and Macquarie IB, which one is better for FT IB recruiting and PE recruiting?

What’re the top groups in each and difficulty of getting in?

what’re the return offer rates in each group

I have until Wednesday to decide, any advice would be appreciated.

Stsrt by saying I'm barely familiar with either, but I'd say go with Macquarie unless its Normura Greentech and you're interested in the space. M&A done by coverage group. Amazing in Infra, and good in EdTech, and they got that principal lending (Direct Lending?) which I guess helps with tailoring deal structure. But I mean if I'm told otherwise then idk.

Macquarie for sure; it's a much stronger overall franchise and strong in the infra space. As mentioned in previous commentary on this forum, Nomura is not a competitive IB franchise, including Greentech. look at the league table standings. it's not even a top 40 franchise in the US and is below a lot of not-prestigious boutiques. This forum has too much of a positive opinion of Nomura, maybe because it's EMEA franchise is stronger, but the US franchise is terrible.

Choose Macquarie and lateral FT. Would be more than doable coming from HYP.
