Non-standard questions to ask candidates (intern/analyst)
Hi monkeys,
Basically the title.
Looking for any questions you ask when interviewing candidates for junior positions that are not the classic behavioural / 400 IB / BIWS questions and the reasons why / what you are hoping to learn from it!
Becoming more involved in recruiting for my team and want to spice it up just a little bit.
Based on the highest ranked content on WSO, here are some non-standard questions you can ask candidates for junior positions, along with the reasons behind them and what you hope to learn:
"What surprised you most when you began your previous role?"
"Can you describe a time when you had to work with a difficult team member? How did you handle it?"
"What qualities do you see in the best analysts?"
"What advice would you give to someone in your position looking to build a career in the industry, especially from a non-core school?"
"What drew you to our bank/group?"
"How are deal teams typically structured in your previous experience?"
"What is the most interesting investment or project you have worked on, and why?"
"If you could change one thing about your previous job, what would it be and why?"
These questions are designed to go beyond the standard behavioral and technical questions, providing deeper insights into the candidate's personality, experience, and fit for the team.

Bump. I'd also like to hear some new/interesting interview questions.
I make freshman interviewing for diversity programs do paper LBOs, and then press them about every part
Once had a guy pick an interest off my resume and grill me abt the business model of companies relating to my interest
Make them speak every language listed on their resume
Riddles, say that they have 2 minutes to provide an answer and watch how they act and perform under pressure.
for women: no interesting questions needed, can visually see if they are of your MD's taste
Porro vel perspiciatis cumque similique deserunt. Aut est fugiat maiores similique.
