Non-Target Failed SA 26 / Should I Delay Graduation?

Hi everyone. Would really appreciate some honest feedback / advice on this. I am currently a rising junior at a non target state school. This past year during my sophomore year, I recruited (unsuccessfully) for 2026 summer analyst roles. Main focus was / is investment banking. There were a lot of things that I did wrong, but for some context the main ones were my GPA was way to low (3.3), my technicals and behaviorals sucked (I barely prepped), and I did not network very well. This is not to say that I had terrible calls, but more that I was just very inconsistent with outreach and after I saw my GPA I gave up. I also did not put any thought into sophomore summer internships and applied to many roles in January with nothing, but still got (very) lucky with a PE internship.

Since all of this, I have brought my GPA up to a 3.8, and now my main question is this: should I push back graduation by a semester and take another stab at recruiting? I am only asking this because I transferred into the current school I go to, and can also added a minor in math which is something I am very interested in. I think these would be justified reasons on delaying graduation by a semester in case it is brought up, but if I am wrong please let me know. I think that this time around, having made these mistakes in the past I would go into recruiting with a much better understanding of the standards I need to meet and will have a better chance. I really do have my mind set on doing banking, but not sure if this is the right move. Any advice / feedback on my thought process would be very helpful.

For reference, experience wise my resume is alright (nothing great). I did a botique investment banking internship freshman year, and am currently interning at a PE fund (LMM so no name recognition, but genuine work and is not a search fund), and am part of the SMIF at my school.
