Non-Target Student and Future Army Officer

Hey all,

I'm currently a rising junior at a non-target (albeit top 50) school where I'm double majoring in finance and political science, recently I have become interested in the possibility of entering the investment banking/private equity space. At this point I've yet to have an internship, however, this is because I've been tied up in summer training due to being an Army ROTC cadet, which dictates me commissioning into the Army as an officer upon graduation. I realize that not having an internship seriously harms my prospects of breaking into the sort of high-finance jobs that I'm interested in, which is why I plan on attempting to get my CFA level 1 designation my senior year, as well as taking the GMAT in order to apply to the sort of top MBA program that can get me into the industry. My question is, how viable an option is this? Additionally I have a 3.5 gpa and rising (3.75 is my target), will have an internship in the office of a congressman by the time I graduate, and plan on branching combat arms (hopefully infantry) upon commissioning.

Thanks for any input, Cowboy_01
