Northwestern (Waitlist -> Accepted) or UChicago
Recently got off waitlist for Northwestern's CAS. Both schools give me similar amount of aid. Hoping to go to the school with lower strike-out rate and end up in NYC firms, should I stay with Uchicago or accept the waitlist spot for Northwestern?

Conclusion: If your primary goal is to end up in NYC firms and you are looking for the school with a lower strike-out rate in finance, UChicago might be the better choice. It has a strong reputation, elite branding, and a proven track record of placing students in top Wall Street positions.
However, if you value a more balanced college experience and are confident in your ability to network and hustle, Northwestern can still provide solid opportunities.
Ultimately, both schools are excellent, and your success will also depend on your personal efforts and networking skills.

Rare to strike out from UC unless you have other problems
UC placements were historically strong, but not that crazy this past year
UChicago strike out is only due to GPA — know some random gen ends curve average grade to a C
northwestern to keep 3.9 and clubs r not too bad, buy side placements a ton due to frank cohen at BX RE
My understanding is the GPA issue can be mitigated by declaring the business economics major as opposed to a more rigorous one. It’ll free up more time for networking / technicals prep etc
atp it is just a pick ur campus if Bizecon is that free, northwestern can push ur major back so far these kids are in 2 light classes and a pass fail during recruiting
Both are good schools but UChicago is definitely more of a target and you can ride off the coattails of Booth (which is also a huge feeder into NYC IB)
