NYU Stern Concentration

Is it ridiculous to pursue a different concentration, like business economics, at school known for finance? I am having some difficulty deciding, because I enjoy creating models and analyzing companies, but I do not like learning about finance in class. I find that economics challenges me a lot more.

Would investment banks care what I concentrate in as long as I am able to communicate well, have the relevant technical skills (may take some online courses + learning from clubs), have a 3.6+ GPA, and have the stern name?

Also, the two most important finance classes at stern (Corp Fin. and Equity Valuation) are posted online with resources so I can audit those at any point.

Also, if I decide to pursue either the EQE or business economics concentration, should I take some CAS Econ classes/math classes?

Thanks in advance.
