NYU Stern or Baruch Zicklin? (Hear me out!)
So, I currently work (FO) in a no name boutique M&A shop in India, and plan to do my MBA from the states in 2020. I will be targeting schools in NYC (networking opps, present family). After research and an analysis of my strengths I came to the conclusion that Stern is the school for me. However, Sterns MBA will rack me up around $1,40,000 in student debt.
Here are my assumptions -
1) Working with the worst case scenario, I'm assuming I wont get an H1B and will get a standard 2 year work permit (OPT) post graduating.
2) I have to pay off the debt in these 2 years, because if I have to go back, I will not be able to pay off my loans in a lifetime with the salaries in India.
Now with Baruch Zicklin, I can safely say that I can pay off my loans in my OPT period.
Here are my Dilemma's -
1) Zicklin not being a target, will provide me slim to no chances to get into a FO at a BB. I will have to network my butt off for no guaranteed return or have to work in a small firm.
2) Will NYU OCR provide me with a certain sense of a guarantee to attain a H1B visa? Making the loan worthwhile to take on?
Really need some input from you guys!
Here's some additional info -
1) Above average student from an average college (Grad) 2) Not applicable for any stated scholarships 3) I run a small company (Online retail / Amazon seller), if its relevant at all
