OCR for Non-target kids

I'm from a T25-30 non-target, mainly known for engineering/stem. We have a few Tier 2 BBs coming on campus soon, and I was wondering if this was normal/useful. Kinda confused why banks would go out of the way for us, especially bc we're normally considered super non-target.

(Yes the posts included that IBD folks were coming)

Your school is probably a “target” or “core” school for them and you should absolutely go, they probably have a few spots dedicated to your school. All it takes is a couple of seniors to really care about their school and volunteer to spearhead recruiting, especially at smaller firms. Barclays / Colby used to be the obvious example. It’s how I got my foot in the door before lateraling (at the advice of the MD who recruited me)
