O&G EB or Generalist UMM?

Have an offer from O&G EB in Houston (EVR/MOE) and MM in Toronto for their Generalist M&A group (RBC/BMO

I live in Canada and would be interested in moving to the US but don't mind staying in Toronto either. Not entirely opposed to O&G but not sure about the long-term prospects of the industry and whether this might pigeonhole me to O&G only once I start.

The forum has been very helpful for interview preparation, networking etc. so would love to get some insights on this from you guys. Thanks!

Current analyst in O&G - both Evercore and Moelis are great platforms but morale is really low across the board here. The pigeonhole is real and industry specific prospects are dim. Most of my friends and I would jump at the first chance to get out of the industry. Unfamiliar with the rep of the Canadian banks but if you have a chance to get out before you get in, I would highly consider it.
