PE Analyst at LGP/Ares/Silver Lake vs EB/IB?
Which ones would be more valuable for someone interested in PE long term? Would the two years in EB banking be more valuable? Any thoughts are appreciated!

Extremely hard to get to LGP or SL
How about Ares? Thoughts on them?
LGP doesn't have an analyst program anymore.
LGP doesn't have a program anymore. Can't go wrong with the SLP, Bain Cap, Ares, WP, KKR programs. Not too many outside of these are worth imo (speaking as current PE Analyst not at one of these firms who wishes I went to an EB)
Hey, any chance you could elaborate a bit more on your analyst program (is it MM/UMM or relatively new) and why you regret joining it as opposed to an EB?
Bump
Are you talking Vista Equity? Heard there's no modeling there for analysts.
Vista is a Megafund, not MM, and the analyst program seems pretty built out. I'm sure the analysts there don't regret choosing Vista over IB (if their goal was PE or they like tech), so I’d guess that this analyst isn’t at Vista. but anyone please feel free to correct me if there's some flaws with the Vista analyst program that's been overlooked.
What does the FT recruiting process look like at shops like these? Do you just network and apply like anywhere else?
Some have summer analysts I think
If I went to a target (I didn't) and had an offer for a PE firm with very interesting portfolio companies like SL and promotes within for high performers, it would be very hard to consider going to any IB over that.
PE analyst. Those kids are killers.
Tellers in private equity are the ones who get killed
Tf is a teller in PE?
You tell people to sugon deez nuts
