PJT Restructuring

Searching the site, it looks like for years it had that unparalleled A001 reputation, but I don’t hear much about it anymore.

Anyone have the latest?

Comp is going to be good, exits are good, you aren’t going to lateral unless you come from another Rx shop. You’re going to be working a lot since they are on /pitching alot of deals

The best in literally everything other than pay, of which they are already basically top of street other than the few outliers like CVP & Q

  1. Low pay drove a lot of turnover and morale still suffers because of it.
  2. You work 7 days a week most weeks with no protected weekends.
  3. Culture is bad. The best Associates are overworked and burned out, so you're either stuck with someone who's at their wit's end and unpleasant, or someone who's incompetent but against all odds still has a job. The analyst classes are tight-knit and "work hard play hard" together, but the group as a whole is not very cohesive. Diversity = none.
  4. The best
  5. Management is cliquish, and the worst and most toxic people thrive while well-adjusted people get no respect and are excluded from the boys club, which is a very isolating and demoralizing experience, which drives many to quit.
  6. There are many laterals from analysts to partners (look on Linkedin).

Working in the group is tough, and you'll most likely hate the job and yourself by the end of the two years (so many hours crying in the bathroom), but it's still the best option around for an analyst seat and will land you the MFPE exit you want.
