PJT/Evercore/PWP London - rotation / re-location to US possible?

Hi Monkeys,

Do you know if it is possible to move from London offices of US EBs (hence excluding Lazard here) to offices in the US for a rotation or on a permanent basis?

Anyone working at these firms or knows cases where people were successful in doing so?

This is what I’ve seen from my experience. A team in NY says they need x more people and it also happens to match with y amount of “international” workers who happen to want to move to NY.

On the other hand I’ve also seen the opposite happen, NY workers being denied a move abroad (in this case it was continental Europe) despite checking all boxes bc NY couldn’t afford the loss

I did this at an asset management firm a few years ago. I spoke to HR and asked my manager for approval, and soon after I had some interviews with the US team before getting the nod. My all-in comp went up almost 40% due to strength of USD and higher comp in the US generally, but COL was significantly higher vs London. Overall, net positive financially for sure, esp. because the difference increased over time. Not to mention the phenomenal personal and professional experience. I would highly encourage a similar move.
