Possible summer internship, questions

Banking/I-Banking really interests me (as does the money), but I honestly dont see myself doing the whole New York City thing, as my daughter lives here in Florida with me.

For the last few weeks Ive been trying to find other career paths that might satisfy me and came across Merrill Lynch. As of now, Im about to start my Junior year (majoring in Business Management or Finance) and am thinking of applying for a summer internship with ML next summer.

Any thoughts.....

1)Are they a pretty good place to try and start a career with?

2)Not being in NY, and working at a ML branch in the south, are there any lucrative careers (especially financially speaking)?

3)Would I still have to do the typical 2-year analyst, THEN Mba, or would I be better off going to graduate school right after undergrad?

Thanx in advance Charles

appreciate the honesty. i guess im at a crossroads, looking for that career thats gonna bank like no other, but still allow me to work under 70 hours a week.....

I was majoring in Psychology until I found out they make crap in comparison with all the school you need.

edit I was checking ML's site and theres more than just I-Banking. Any thoughts on the other fields: - Technology - Global Markets - Investment Management - Few more found here:

I'm interning at ML in Jacksonville now. They are about to bring a lot more people down from NY soon. They are taking one of their buildings that they rented back. You won't really make any money though in Jax. At least that is what the people in my group are telling me.
