post conference attire

a big shot alum invited me to dinner (with other alums. i will be the only student) at what looks like a pretty casual place. it's after some conference he's attending.

i'm thinking of just going with pants and a dress shirt (no jacket).

i rag on attire questions, but when it's my turn i morph into a pussy and require WSO validation.

thoughts? was going to go with a jacket but it's a very casual spot and don't want to look like a tool (even though this post probably paints me as one lol).

If it's after a conference, they will probably all be dressed for the conference, so it depends on what the conference is. You should be pretty safe going business casual. If they are all in suits, wouldn't hurt to bring a jacket in your car with you.

If you show up in full suit and tie and they are all dressed in jeans, you will look like a douche.

Why don't you ask him what the conference attire is?

Wall Street leaders now understand that they made a mistake, one born of their innocent and trusting nature. They trusted ordinary Americans to behave more responsibly than they themselves ever would, and these ordinary Americans betrayed their trust.
