Private credit salaries 2023

Hi,

I need some help about salaries for an associate role (5 years) in a private credit team in London (background is Leveraged finance and sponsor coverage background, in line with all my new peers).

The position is a team within a big company: KKR, Ares, Barings and those profile.

What would be the salary? And what bonuses are they paying for 2022?

Thanks!

All in.

For analysts, £70k-£80k base + £60k-£70k bonus is probably "market" level for a normal year (last year upper end of that range, this year probably the £60k or maybe even £40-50k in bonus depending on shop).

At ASO3 level, I would expect bonus to be slightly above your base.

Thanks.

I asked because the investment volumes will decline (less capital deployed, less management fees) and performance might decrease (lower carry). Funds would prefer to retain employees -not paying bonuses- rather than paying bonus and firing the following year.

OP clearly at Barings - known to heavily underpay at all levels except DIR+ in London. Other names comp in line with previous comments.

Below what I have gathered from speaking to HHs. Would be great to know if you know of any other firms.

- ICG: £80k base + 1.25-1.5x bonus for ASO1

- Pemberton: £80k base + 75% bonus for ASO1

- Ares: £130k base + >1.0x bonus for ASO1

- GS: £95k base + 1.0x bonus for ASO1

- Barings: £100k base + 1.0x bonus for ASO1

- Sixth Street: £150k base + 1.5x bonus for ASO1
