Profile evaluation LBS MFA

I’m planning to do a masters in finance to recruit for SA in London. My top school is LBS and looking to apply in round 2 for the MFA 2026 entry

Age: 22
Nationality: British + EU passport holder

Graduated in July 2025 BSc Economics at a low tier target (UCL, Bath, Warwick). Low 1st class degree (72%). Also achieved 45/45 in the international baccalaureate if that's worth anything

Summers in: Emerging Market Equity Research at a no name boutique, and corp dev for a fast growing telecoms firm.

Current work since July 2025: investment consulting for asset owners, such as pension funds, endowment, foundation, family office (trying to keep this vague to be anonymous). Asset allocation, investment strategy, manager selection. Will have completed 1 year 2 months by the time I would start at lbs

Sitting CFA L1 in May 2026

Targeting 700 GMAT.

Assuming I achieve the GMAT score, what are my chances for LBS, as it is my top school?

Bath is a mid Semi Target.

It’s a 2A, similar to Durham and Bristol. I guess putting semi-targets in groups is meaningless since it’s more about your profile rather than university brand at semi-target level. WW and UCL are 1B, so a tier above.

Since you graduated this year you don’t have the 2+ years (or more) experience you’ll need to apply for Mfin at LBS. You can apply for the pre-experience MFA at LBS or MIM. I’d say overall you have a fine background, as long as you get a good GMAT score you don’t have a problem. I know LBS does interviews but not so sure on if they are hard/technical. I’d say apply for LSE and Imperial too.
