Prudential Summer CIO Analyst Thoughts

Hey all,

I'm currently a junior at a target school who unfortunately wasn't very successful with 2026 IB internship recruiting and so have been looking around for other finance roles still available. I was able to receive an offer from Prudential for its Chief Investment Office internship, with the role being more on the manager selection side of portfolio management for Pru's general accounts (~$500bn) (either alternative assets, global portfolio management (US & Int), hedging, or global investment strategy). While I do wish the compensation was better ($35/hr + 5k signing bonus), the role appears to be decently attractive and is at a reputable insurance company.

Does anyone here have any experiences with this internship program? What does career progression look like for it, either within Pru/PGIM or eventually transitioning to another firm (ideally in AM)?
