Public Finance--What do you do in excel?

If there are no DCF, comps, or lbo models, what do public finance analysts do in excel? I assume that the focus on financing means financing models. Do these have any specific names? Any other duties of analysts in public finance would be great too.

Thx

Debt service schedules and debt models, utility fund modeling (pro forma/cash flow and coverage ratios for revenue bonds), bond sizing and refunding analysis (more than likely you will be using DBC for most of this type of analysis), swap analysis, etc. You are right, definitely no DCF, LBO models, but operating models are helpful for utility/infrastructure projects to calculate coverage and projected debt burden.

Hi August --

Do you or anyoen happen to know where there are some models of things like that? I've done a bunch of DCF stuff, but for the life of me can't find any public finance Excel examples. Any idea of where to look, online, books, etc? Or perhaps someone has some examples?

Best, Dave
