Put incoming summer role on resume?

I'm considering applying for some networking or diversity events at BBs but I already have an internship lined up for the summer. Should I write that in my resume? I.e. incoming IBD summer analyst at JPM/MS/GS.

Does that flag you an automatic "no" or does it make you seem more "desirable" to try to attract as a candidate? I'm asking because this will be my first "big" internship and I think having that name might strengthen my resume but I also don't want to burn bridges if that's a big no-no in the industry.

Funny story about that.

I met Joshua Rosenbaum and Joshua Pearl (the guys who wrote *Investment Banking*) at a panel event they were doing in NYC in March of this year. At the time I was in the same exact situation as you, I was about to intern at a top MM bank as a sophomore and wanted to be able to display that somehow on my resume for diversity/networking events for BB banks.

During the Q&A, I asked them the very same question that you're asking right here and Rosenbaum said that it was an absolute must, especially considering how accelerated recruiting had become. He also said he recruited for RBC.

I followed his advice and the top line of the Professional Experience section of my resume became "Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst at XYZ" and I applied to diversity events with that resume.

I was accepted by all of the diversity events that I applied to and ended up getting my offer at a BB from one of those events for this summer.
