PwC - FDD Interview

Hey all, I have an interview coming up for PwC's Financial Due Diligence line of business - can someone who knows this line please explain what exactly this is (articles on line are a little unclear to me) and if this is a LOB that requires you to get your CPA? Also, if anyone has insight on the interviews that would be really helpful!

I've never done a case study - what can I expect? How to prepare for it

Hi, I know this post was written a few months ago but I also have an interview coming up in this position, would it be okay if I messaged you about the interview process?

Just to update since I interviewed and received an offer but then pivoted to consulting. CPA as told to me is required (had extensive conversations with people and HR) and was one of the main drawbacks for me. Had a basic case study and focused on EBITDA and QoE and discussed how certain scenarios in a business could affect top and bottom line. Nothing crazy technical at all and was mostly behavioral. Seems to me like they do due diligence and confirm the accounting is correct. I've been told it's a step up from audit as you actually focus on deals versus strictly auditing companies.

Quality of earnings (i.e. normalizing historical EBITDA to remove accounting noise), net working capital, net debt, cash flows, bridge to model, purchase agreement review for relevant price adjustments, etc. Know what all of this means. A CPA isn't a must have, but you definitely need to know your way around financial statements if you're going to be able to identify normalizing/run rate adjustments and pro forma considerations. They also build massive databooks to analyze all the financials, so have strong excel and data management / analysis skills is important to demonstrate.
