PWP v Rothschild v Evercore v Moelis- London

Hi I have been a fortunate dosser and have received offers from all the above for the London 2021 summer internship
I can't decide.
PWP- very exclusive and Mayfair which is cool. Rapidly growing

Rothschild- big name and prestigious but a lot of MM deals so not sure if it will effect exits

Evercore- massive in the USA and growing in Europe.

Moelis- exclusive and growing in europe. Top bankers to work with.
Any help? Looking for exits with options- PE/C suite route/HF no idea but don't want to be f***ed. Cheers,

Phat dosser

PWP would be your best bet, both for keeping options open and for PE/HF exit ops

They mainly do large M&A deals, the other 3 are more MM/LMM focused so less relevant for MF/UMM PE

Firstly, congrats for the offers.

My opinion for London:

PWP > Rothschild / Evercore > Moelis

PWP = just read the thread on them but in summary good pay good hours and good deal flow with good culture.

Rothschild = power house in london deal flow is great but a lot of MM deals

Evercore = growing in London but still relies too much on the US, mainly does MM deals. Pays well.

Moelis = terrible in london, no deal flow and mainly does LMM deals, have friends there constantly complaining all they do is pitch (one friend has been there for over a year and has still not completed a deal yet) despite this they have insane exit ops (3 people in the past 2 years at moelis london have joined blackstone and others have gone to mega funds) this is strange because they barely work on any deals and just pitch, but the brand reputation moelis has in the US is enough for mega funds to be interested

RTH > EVR/PWP > Moelis in London. Ultimately it will come down to the specific team you will join, but these banks are pretty much of the same caliber (Moelis being the weakest).
