Question about diversity recruiting

Sup monkeys,

Just wondering, in every thread I read I see that people hear back for "diversity recruiting" earlier than regular recruiting. I am Hispanic and thus a diversity candidate but have applied to a standard SA2022 position. Does me being diversity means my application gets flagged and I go through an expedited process or do I hear back at regular times? Or are people talking about specific diversity programs like the Barclays Sophomore Discovery Diversity?

I mean you'll still be considered diversity, but won't go through the diversity recruiting process unless you were a part of the diversity program pipeline. To my knowledge, there aren't any benefits of recruiting regular but being diversity (as in it won't be a bonus, banks have already hired their diversity quotas from the programs, so you won't be given extra weight). That sounds really bad and please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's speaking from my experience.

I went through diversity recruiting for boutiques last year, and my bank hired 2 students from the program from my school. Then during regular recruiting, they hired 4 more from my school, but all were non-diversity even though diversity candidates also applied in the regular pool. Not saying diversity candidates are not extremely qualified (I have a lot of respect, and am one myself), but that it didn't appear to be given any weight unless you were in the diversity program. SOrry for long-winded answer, hope that makes sense

If you are a URM join SEO, they will give you links and info on diversity specific recruiting channels. If you applied normally banks will see you are a urm and that will likely help, but if you could choose - you want to be in that diversity specific recruiting chanel.

What if I'm a diversity candidate but get rejected from most diversity programs? Will regular recruiting as a diverse individual be harder since banks have already filled up their diversity quotas through those programs' pipelines?

On the other side, I've also heard that at least 1/2 of the people in diversity programs don't end up getting an offer anyway. Does this mean being part of an accelerated program you also get rejected / completely cut out of the process earlier?
