Quitting after TWO days of interning

Always dreamed about working in IB but after working on the SECOND day and being handed a lot of assignments, I realize this isn't for me. I know people say it's cause no one knows on the first day, but I just dread it. I have an incoming offer for a PM role and was thinking about just leaving all of my items I had on the first day and then sending my manager a text saying "I feel embarrassed but IB isn't right for me and I was in it for the money which is a terrible mindset" can someone give me a way to tell them?

I know in the other thread people advised OP to stick it out, but in this specific situation I think it’s fair to quit. Day one is way too early to make the call. Anybody who’s ready to quit after day one is just being a bitch and needs to toughen up and put in the work. Nothing good ever came without hard work and persistence.

However by day two of working moderately hard, you’re pretty seasoned. You’ve had time to build up your skills and establish a network in your company. By this point you’ve probably gotten enough exposure and deal reps to really know if the business is, or isn’t right for you. At that point it’s about what life you want.

I say you can quit and hopefully leverage your 15 hours of work experience to either lateral upwards to a better firm, or look into buyside opportunities. Be sure to put in a 2 day notice with your company in case you ever wanna return as an intern in the future. Finance is a small world and not worth burning bridges. Hope this helps!
